Our Vision

Our vision is to build a strong community of faith in the San Antonio Metropolitan area to the glory of God. We recognize that there are concentric circles of community. The first is the family, second is the church, and finally the community at large.
Our members strive to establish communities of faith in their homes with personal study and prayer. We build up the church to worship God and equip our members for ministry. We serve the community through ministry that all might know the love of God, the power of His presence, and the blessing of being called out of the darkness and into the light.

” Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Matthew 25:34-36

~ Family ~

At Faith Community we believe that your family and what you practice in your home should be the foundation of your relationship with God.

“But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
-Joshua 24:15b – New King James Version

We challenge our members to make home worship a natural and comfortable experience. When prayer, praise, and study are practiced first at home, the expression of these in a church setting and in the community is a natural and powerful experience.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
-Matthew 5:16 – New King James Version (NKJV)

“ speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,”
-Ephesians 5:19 (NKJV)

Personal devotions as evidenced by the life of Christ develop our ability to enjoy a close fellowship with God. At Faith Community we provide instruction in daily devotion practices and our members have access to our church library which contains a wide variety of topics to promote Christian education and growth.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
-2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)

The weekly worship gathering at Faith Community is a time of celebration. We celebrate our unity in Christ through songs of praise, corporate prayer, challenging Biblical messages, and a healthy dose of fellowship along with a weekly fellowship meal modeled after the First century Christian Church.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
-Acts 2:42 (NIV)

Our worship experience seeks to form the bridge between our home devotionals and our drive to reach the San Antonio community for Christ. Members are encouraged to develop meaningful relationships with each other and to encourage one another to good works.

“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”
-1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV)

The message each Sunday will communicate God’s Love along with a challenge to live as an expression of the Biblical Christ. We believe in communicating the Gospel as Christ’s instruction to build up and equip members for the challenge of true service.

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,”
– Ephesians 4:11-12 (NKJV)

Worship attendees join each week in prayer with the belief that prayer is the key to having a powerful and rewarding walk with the Lord.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
-James 5:16 (NKJV)

We provide a Children and Youth Church ministry for our youngest disciples so that they may have their own place and time to learn of God’s love for them while being equipped to recognize Christ and make good choices for their future.

“Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
-Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)

Our Service to the community is an expression of our love for Jesus and the integrity of His teachings. Jesus taught that our ministry to the community is to be viewed as our ministry unto him.

“For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”
-Matthew 25:35-36, 40 (NKJV)

Each month we make visits to minister to the homeless at the Haven for Hope campus. We also support the work of SAMMinistries by feeding program participants one a quarter. We believe that we best learn to love our brother and sister by serving them to the glory of God.

The great commission of Matthew 28:19-20 provides our direction to reach our community with the message that Jesus is the way to peace with god and with self.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. “
-John 3:16 (NKJV)
